The conference cordially invites scholars to submit research papers for presentation consideration at the 2024 Massey Sustainable Finance Conference that will take place on 02-03 December 2024 in Auckland, New Zealand. The conference allows both online and in-person presentations.
This conference, organized by the Massey Sustainable Finance Cluster at School of Economics and Finance, Massey University, aims to bring together academics, practitioners, and policymakers sharing their research findings and discussing current and challenging issues in the crossroad of Finance and Sustainability. The conference is also an ideal occasion for all scholars around the world to present their research, exchange research ideas and experiences, and develop research projects.
The scientific and organizing committees welcome submissions in all topics that link Finance and Sustainability together for presentation at the conference no later than 30th August 2024 (early submission is highly encouraged).
KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
Sumit Agarwal, Low Tuck Kwong Distinguished Professor of Finance, National University of Singapore, Singapore
In the past, he has held positions as a Professor of Finance at the Business School, Georgetown University. Before that he was a senior financial economist in the research department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and prior to joining the Chicago Fed, he was a senior vice president and credit risk management executive in the Small Business Risk Solutions Group of Bank of America.
Paul Conway, Director of Economics/Chief Economist, Reserve Bank of New Zealand, New Zealand
Paul Conway became the Reserve Bank’s Director of Economics and Chief Economist in May 2022. He joined the Reserve Bank from BNZ where he had been Chief Economist since January 2021.
Before joining BNZ Paul spent 7 years as the Director of Economics and Research at the New Zealand Productivity Commission. Much of Paul’s work at the Commission was focused on firm-level productivity and understanding the obstacles New Zealand businesses face in using technology to improve performance.
Paul has extensive international experience and has previously worked at the OECD and with the World Bank. Paul initially started his career at the Reserve Bank as an economist after studying at Victoria of University of Wellington and Otago University.
Joanna (Jo) Kelly, Chief Executive, Centre for Sustainable Finance - Toitū Tahua, New Zealand
Jo has delivered cross-continent sustainability initiatives between some of the world’s best known business leaders, including the B Team, a global business leadership collective. She has previously been a board member of B Lab AANZ, the non-profit organisation that supports the Australasian community of certified B Corps and the NZ Impact Investing Network. Prior to joining the Centre Jo spent four years with Deloitte NZ. Jo was a member of the Sustainable Finance Forum that developed the 2030 Roadmap for Action.
